Riverfront Copthorne Majestic Hotel reopens after $30 million revamp

Riverfront Copthorne Majestic Hotel, consortium of Millennium Hotels and Resorts, reopened its main gate nine months after a much tedious and overhaul renovation which estimate $30million. The recently rejuvenated 574 guestrooms five-star hotel, features extended upgraded office facilities, communal space and more sustainer co-working spaces.
Located at 392 Havelock Road along the Singapore River, Riverfront Copthorne Majestic Hotel attracts business and leisure travellers. Millennium Hotels and Resorts is a global brand under Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, the hotel arm of mainboard-listed property conglomerate City Developments.
“The recent expansion for Riverfront Copthorne Majestic Hotel, particularly as MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions] travel resumes normalcy and in-person events return to the agenda,” says Kwek Eik Sheng, executive director of Millennium Hotels and Resorts.
As greener events demand has also improved, with corporate planners preferring hotels with strong sustainability features and initiatives. “We are well positioned to capture this fast-growing MICE market, and increase our competitive edge.”
The extensive renovation are 33 volatile meeting ballroom across three floors. Sustainable culture are amplified through the usage of recyclable and biodegradable stationery, filtered drinking water replacing bottled water, and a linen-less table set-up.
IN-built water filters are also fitted individually in each hotel room, which according to the hotel chairman spokesperson, that will reduce significantly single-use plastic waste from bottled water consumption by 20%. “We have incorporated innovative and high-efficiency technology that reduces electricity and water consumption, installed eco-friendly features such as in-room water dispensers,” says Andy Tan, senior vice president of global operations and partnership at Millennium Hotels and Resorts.
